About the event
"Rachael McElhiney’s laugh can take over a room. And if you’re fortunate, you know that her songs can do the same – in fact, McElhiney’s conversational songwriting coupled with her quiet mastery of saxophone and ukulele has recently cemented her as a darling of the Reno music scene. The best part? She’s just getting started.
After years of playing the sideman with bands like Buster Blue, Moondog Matinee, and Failure Machine, McElhiney released her first solo EP, 2018’s “Apricot Trees”, to rave reviews from those in the know. Since then, she’s played regularly all over the West Coast, introducing droves of people to her lilting melodies, honey sweet timbre, and folk-inspired tunes. Not to be missed, McElhiney will be an artist-at-large at this year’s Off Beat Music Festival. Catch her with Subtle Lovers, MELK, Oh Lonesome Ana, and, of course, solo."
